Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th 1809 in Hodgeville Kentucky. He was born in a one room cabin in Sinking Spring Farms. He died on April 15th 1865 at age 56.

Lincoln was mostly self-educated. He went to a makeshift school at age six however the curriculum and staff availability was limited. When asked to describe his education he said it was "defective". Abraham Lincoln never attended college.

Thomas Lincoln was his father, his birth mother, Nancy Lincoln, died from "milk illness" after having both Abraham and Sarah, his younger sister. Soon after his mothers death Thomas Lincoln came back with Sarah "Sally" Bush Johnson who became Abraham's step-mother. Sally Johnson already had three kids that became Lincolns step-siblings. Later in life Abraham married Mary Todd and had four sons; William, Robert, Edward, and Tad.
